50 free Anagrams trivia questions with answers — trivia quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
An anagram takes the letters of a word or phrase and deals them out again in a new order. Sometimes the result is nonsense. Sometimes it fits so neatly that it looks planned, which is why writers, scientists and courtiers have played the game since ancient times. This quiz mixes puzzles you can solve with trivia you can learn from. Some questions hand you a scrambled word and ask for the city, country, UK town or famous name hiding inside it. Others ask about anagrams in the wild: secret identities in novels and films, album titles, stage names, and discoveries that astronomers once published as scrambled Latin. The easy questions suit children and anyone new to word puzzles, and the harder ones should stretch crossword regulars. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so the quiz works for a classroom warm-up, a pub quiz round or a quiet few minutes on your own.
