40 free Drum Corps International trivia questions with answers — music quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
Drum Corps International, DCI for short, runs the summer tour that drum corps fans plan their Augusts around. Each corps spends months polishing a single show, carries it across the country by bus, and is judged on it night after night until the championships in August. The margins can be tiny: more than one title has been decided by a fraction of a point. This quiz covers the corps and the shows that made them famous, from the earliest championship in 1972 through the 2017 season and beyond. It also asks how a show is scored, which horns and drums make the sound, what the color guard carries, which rule changes reshaped the activity, and what the words members use on tour really mean. It is written for marching members, alumni, band parents and anyone who has watched finals night and wanted to know more. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so even a wrong guess teaches you something about the activity.
