60 free Fourth of July Food trivia questions with answers — food & drink quiz, new questions added Aug 2026.
The Fourth of July is America's biggest cookout, and everything on the picnic table has a story. This quiz is all about the food and drink of Independence Day: where the hot dog and the hamburger came from (and who fights over the credit), how the Nathan's Famous contest really started, why the four big barbecue styles are so different, and how apple pie, watermelon, corn on the cob, potato salad and s'mores ended up as summer staples. You'll also get the drinks and the desserts: lemonade, root beer, sweet tea, Kool-Aid, the Popsicle, the red-white-and-blue Bomb Pop and Jell-O, plus the backyard hardware, from Kingsford charcoal to the Weber kettle. A few questions dip into July 4th history where it touches the menu, like George Washington's double rum ration in 1778. The questions run from easy crowd-pleasers to expert-level food history, so they work for a family cookout, a picnic game or a July trivia night. Every answer was checked against Wikipedia and related reference pages, and each question shows the sentence that backs it up.
