50 free Goth Subculture trivia questions with answers — pop culture quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
Goth has outlasted almost every youth movement that started alongside it. What began in the post-punk clubs of late-1970s Britain grew into a worldwide scene with its own music, fashion, festivals and in-jokes, and it keeps finding new fans every time a pale, black-clad character turns up on screen. This quiz covers the whole dark picture: the bands and records that defined the sound, the clubs and gatherings where the scene took shape, the clothes and symbols, the Gothic novels and horror films that fed its imagination, and the goths of film, television and comics. It also looks at names, from the stage names singers invented for themselves to where well-known bands found theirs. It is written for lifelong goths, for the goth-curious, and for anyone setting a themed quiz night. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so you can play it straight through or print it for a group.
