58 free Hot Chocolate trivia questions with answers — food & drink quiz, new questions added Aug 2026.
Hot chocolate is older than solid chocolate by about three thousand years. The Maya and Aztecs drank it frothed and spiced, Spanish courtiers sweetened it, London gentlemen gambled over it, and a hydraulic press in 1828 turned it into the powder in your cupboard. This quiz follows the whole story, from cacao pods on the tree to Swiss Miss packets in the 1950s. Expect questions on brands (Nesquik, Ovaltine, Milo, Bournvita), regional versions from Mexico, the Philippines, South America, Spain and Italy, the science of marshmallows, and the drink's cameos in film and pop music. Difficulty runs from things any cocoa drinker knows to details for people who own a molinillo. It works for a winter party, a cafe quiz night, National Hot Chocolate Day or a cosy family round. Every answer was checked against Wikipedia and brand histories, and each question carries a citation you can open, so if a fact surprises you the source is one click away.
