50 free The Game Awards trivia questions with answers — trivia quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
The Game Awards began in 2014 as a streamed alternative to the television award shows that came before it, and within a decade it had grown into one of the most-watched nights in gaming, drawing well over a hundred million streams. Its final award, Game of the Year, is the one studios want most, and the list of winners doubles as a short history of modern video games. This quiz covers every Game of the Year winner and the rivals each one beat, along with the records, the voting rules, the venues, the celebrity presenters and the on-stage moments people still talk about, from surprise hardware reveals to an uninvited guest at the microphone. It is written for anyone who watches the show each December, and for players who want to test how well they remember which game won in which year. Every answer comes with a short explanation.
