The Ren & Stimpy Show arrived on Nickelodeon in 1991 and looked like nothing else on children's television. Its two stars, a scrawny, furious dog and a blissfully dim cat, lurched through grotesque close-ups, mock commercials and jokes that kept the network's censors busy. The cartoon became a cult hit with college students as well as kids, and it changed what animated television was allowed to look like. This quiz covers the whole run. There are questions on Ren, Stimpy and the oddballs around them, from Powdered Toast Man to Mr. Horse; on the most memorable episodes, including Space Madness, Stimpy's Invention and Son of Stimpy; on the voice cast and the guest stars; and on the stormy production story, with its firings, shelved episodes and later revivals. It is written for fans who grew up with the original Nicktoons, for cartoon buffs, and for anyone putting together a 1990s television round for a quiz night.
