50 free Vocaloid trivia questions with answers — music quiz, new questions added Oct 2026.
A Vocaloid is a singer in a box: type in a melody and words, and the software sings them back. Since the first voices went on sale in 2004, bedroom producers have used them to write an enormous catalogue of songs, and the characters on the boxes have become performers who headline concerts without existing. This quiz covers the whole scene. There are questions on the best-known characters and the lesser-known ones from Japan, Britain, China, Korea and beyond, the real people whose voices were sampled, the companies and engineers behind the software, and the songs, games, anime and concerts that grew out of it. It is written for fans who think they can name every Vocaloid, and for anyone who has heard a Hatsune Miku song and wondered where it came from. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so you can play it through or print it for a club or convention.
