50 free When Calls the Heart trivia questions with answers — entertainment quiz, new questions added Aug 2026.
When Calls the Heart began as a 1983 Janette Oke novel about a city-bred teacher posted to the Canadian frontier, and Hallmark turned it into the longest-running scripted series in the channel's history. Since January 2014 the Hearties have followed Elizabeth Thatcher from Coal Valley to Hope Valley, through a Mountie husband lost off-screen, a baby, a governor's proposal and a slow-burn second romance, while the show itself survived a mid-season scandal that wrote out one of its original stars. These 50 questions cover the town, the triangle and the backstage story: the year the series is set, why the town changed its name, the Vancouver farm where Hope Valley was built, the Hell on Wheels props, the University Women's Club that doubles as the Thatcher home, the 2019 hiatus, the creators Michael Landon Jr. and Brian Bird, the spin-offs When Hope Calls and Hope Valley: 1874, and the guest turns by Brooke Shields, James Brolin and Melissa Gilbert. The easy tier sticks to the main cast; the hard tier asks about Super Channel premieres, costume designers and which orphanage town the sisters of When Hope Calls settled in. Every answer is cited to a page we checked and comes with a one-line explanation. Play it solo or print it for a Hallmark watch party alongside our Hallmark movies quiz.
